THE PROGRAM

Planning on taking the DSHS certification or screening test? Test-taking can be nerve-wracking, especially if you’re not accustomed to the approach to standardized testing used in the U.S.

This 4-hour workshop will help you know what to expect with the following four DSHS interpreter testing processes:

  • The Medical Interpreter certification exams, written and oral

  • The Medical Interpreter screening exams, written and oral

  • The Social Service Interpreter certification exams, written and oral

  • The Social Service Interpreter screening exams, written and oral.

THE CONTENT

This training addresses the general content of each test, as well as how to manage the testing methodologies. You’ll learn how to approach a standardized test, how to figure out a multiple choice question, and how to study effectively. We will also complete and go over a sample test. After this workshop, you will have the tools to go to your testing appointment as cool as a cucumber, ready to pass with flying colors!
